Together Advancing Innovation, Education, and Collaboration in Clinical Pharmacology
Dear Madam/Sir, Dear Sponsors,
It is our great pleasure to invite you to participate in and kindly consider sponsoring the Second Croatian Congress of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics with International Participation, which will take place in Opatija, Croatia, from September 18–20, 2025. The event will be organized by the Croatian Society of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Croatian Medical Association.
These are exciting times for clinical pharmacology, with increasing research, rapid changes in pharmacotherapy options, and challenges in balancing financial possibilities and reimbursement. This certainly has a significant impact on healthcare systems worldwide. The main objective of the congress is to intensify and enhance professional and scientific discussions and collaboration between clinical pharmacologists, other medical professionals, and various stakeholders on the following topic:
“Clinical Pharmacology: Rational Therapy for Today’s Challenges”.
We will examine and discuss all the crucial issues in clinical pharmacology and therapy and are preparing an exciting scientific program with numerous sessions and lectures that convey our current medical and professional knowledge. We will certainly benefit from up-to-date research data, lectures from experts in all fields of clinical pharmacology, high-quality scientific content, and interactions with professionals in other disciplines closely connected to medicines and pharmacotherapy, including patients and industry representatives. We would like to emphasize our collaboration with the British Pharmacological Society (BPS) and the joint organization of a symposium.
Clinical pharmacology has been recognized as a separate medical specialization in Croatia for 50 years and has achieved notable results in a wide range of its activities, which will be covered in the following topics:
-
Real-world evidence in assessing the efficacy and safety of medicines
-
Pharmacoeconomics and health technology assessment
-
Clinical pharmacology in regulatory medicine and pharmacovigilance
-
Personalized medicine and pharmacogenomics
-
Clinical trials today: how to bring a new medicine to market
-
Rational pharmacotherapy: clinical problems and challenges in family medicine
-
Specific therapeutic areas, including antimicrobial drugs, cardiovascular clinical pharmacology, oncology drugs, orphan drugs, treatment of diabetes and obesity, immunopharmacology, etc.
However, the full congress agenda will also include other important topics, such as clinical trial modeling, pharmaceutical pricing and reimbursement, comparative efficacy studies, the value of health and health interventions, artificial intelligence in pharmacotherapy, and other relevant areas of clinical pharmacology. A preliminary program has been published on the website for your reference.
The organizers will ensure presentations of up-to-date research data, lectures from experts in all fields of clinical pharmacology, high-quality scientific content, and interactions with professionals in other disciplines closely connected to medicines and pharmacotherapy, including patients and industry representatives. We would also like to emphasize our collaboration with the British Pharmacological Society (BPS) and the joint organization of a symposium.
Given the importance of this congress, we expect approximately 120–150 participants from Croatia, neighboring countries, and the Central and Eastern European (CEE) region.
The congress’ technical organization is entrusted to our long-term partner, Otours PCO.
